LaGrange N.C. | Daddy bought a 5085M back in July and has'nt used the 3 pt. hitch just the remotes until last week we started cutting ditch banks. He noticed that the lift was working slow so he called the dealer ship and they sent some one out and he check it out and he said that the 3rd. arm was in the wrong hole and move it to the top and said was fixed I said BS. I called a defferent dealer monday and the guy out and check it out and said that it needed a cold weather kit on it for the lift to work like it is supposed to . when you first start the tractor it will not pick up at all , you have to wait for like 15 to20 min. for the tractor to warm up before it will lift I have never heard of such thing as this have any of yall. thanks mark

This was a common complaint on the 5x25 series and I thought they addressed it on the newer E's and M's. Anyways, I'm assuming that all the other hydraulic functions work normally AND that the EH controls are set correctly, then you should check into that DTAC solution for the 25 series, it suggests that an adjustment is needed and how to perform it. My 5525 does the same thing when it's very cold but clears up with a little heat in the hyd. oil, so I live with it - one of these days I'll get around to adjusting it. To clear up some things for you and to put your dad a little more at ease: There is only one hyd. pump on these tractors, one circuit is dedicated to the tractor hydraulics, the other to the steering. I'm not aware of there being widespread problems with the pump. Also, I'm not aware of any transmission seal that would cause the hitch lift problem, if there is it would be rare indeed. Finally, the "park update" shouldn't apply to you, it was mainly centered on the 5x10 and 20 series and, to my knowledge, the problem it was designed to fix had been corrected when they introduced the 5x25 series. If it's in warranty, contact your dealer, if it's out and the dealer won't help you (I think, they should) let me know and I'll PM you a link to a site where you can buy and download all the manuals cheaply.

LaGrange N.C. | I agree it don't get that cold here for hyd. not to work wright at least not for the red ones.

s.e.mn. | The seal that went was cAusing the charge pump to starve , the seal was to be on a e model but was in a m. I had to be shipped in from ovrrseas , the pump was 1 of 7 on unit down backorder, at the time there were 70+/- on order with no ship date. After calling deere direct it was taken off the assembly line , if memory serves me thst pump was under the rh platform and there was another pump directly on the engine . My "park update card" came 8 days ago and said 5085m , we got 2. One for the first dud they bought back and the second was for the one we never used. We paid the 5420 park fail ourselves and the 5425 park fail they warranted and the 2nd 5425 we hoped would run over the hill, these were all syncro shuttle, that never did more then mow , plow snow and load bales Yep thats right we went through 5 - oh the next one will be betters
