twisted chisel plow points, which way?

Subject: twisted chisel plow points, which way?


mid minnesota

We have a IH 55 chisel plow with 3 ranks of shovels, front goes right, middle goes left and the back row is split one side goes left and other side right. ? is this the right setting? 3.5 in points

I've found that it works good to start with the ones close to the tires and make sure they are throwing dirt away from tires. After that I just mix and match trying to always have the furrow filled back up. It always leaves it smooth enough that I've neverbeen concerned with it and I am extremely particular with smoothness of fields.
