North Central Alabama | I just bought a complete 2004 970 Quicke loader, brackets, joystick, valve to go on my CIH MX120.It was in the deal for me to take it off of another MX120 myself.I marked cables from joystick to valve, hydraulic lines at the power beyond block in back sandwiched between the remote blocks.I did not take hydraulic lines loose at valve. The valve is bolted to the right loader bracket about head high and the 4 loader lines plug in there.
Everything works fine except the float detent is all the way back behind raise posistion. The loader raises correctly by pulling the lever back but if you keep pulling joystick back you can feel it go into float and the loader will go down and float just like it is supposed to by pushing the joystick foward.
I talked to the mechanic that mounts all of the loaders on tractors at my local CIH dealer. He is pretty sharp and he was scratching his head trying to reccomend a fix.He said i may have to swap around my 2 cables coming from joystick in cab to valve outside mounted on loader bracket and then switch the 2 quick connect hydraulic lines at valve going to the lift cylinders.
I did not test the joystick on the sellers tractor before i pulled the loader and valve off but i bet it worked the same wrong way because i marked everything.
Please don't tell me to rotate joystick 180 degrees because it only goes one way and every thing works correct except this float posistion.
When you buy a Quicke loader does the joystick have to be put together and if so could the cable have been put in wrong at the joystick? |

| EVERY line is in the wrong place and the joystick goes 4 ways. Not just two. And yes, the joystick is not attached to the cables when shipped. I am surprised the PB works. Check the ports on the valve. P is pressure. If you back feed the system by way of T2 or T1 you have a mess. Everything works backwards.
Get the instructions and do it from scratch. |

| The only float in the valve is on the lower side for the main boom. Hence, the hoses are wrong for the main boom. When you turn over the joystick the bucket hoses will be wrong. Hence, all hoses are incorrect. Moving the hoses around to mask the mounting is not a fix. It is wrong and dangerous. If someone gets caught under the loader what will an inexperienced person do? Pull back the loader control all the way. Which way will the loader go? Down. Which is the wrong way to save someone. They messed up. Start over.
