| Have an older Gregory sidearm mower that I need some parts for. It is made by Gregory Manufacturing Co. in Lewiston-Woodville, NC. All the contact info I kept in the manual is no good anymore. Has this company been bought out? If so who is the new company and where can I contact them? |

Northeastern North Carolina | I am about 10 miles from the old Lewiston plant, Gregory was bought out a few years back and the new company closed that plant and moved north (Pennsylvania maybe?). Parts are real hard to find, the former local dealers still have some contact with the company but can't get parts |

I think Amadas is who bought the cutter line from Gregory. At least this one looks just like the one i have, except the shiny paint. |

I have one of the mowers also. What parts do you need? |

Amadas makes alot of farm related equipment and the mower they make is built stronger, better than the Gregory G-195. The only thing I don't like on the Amadas long reach mower is that you can't grease the bearings for the blade spindle. The manual says you need to take the spindle apart and pack the bearings every year. On my Gregory G-195, they have a grease zirk and no need to mess with the spindle unless you have a bearing going bad, which in my case has been every 4-5 years depending on usage. |

| One thing I need to improve if I can is the lift on the main boom. I think the tractor hyd. pressure is ok but it will not lift the boom to well unless I have the deck tucked under closer to the tractor. The manal shows different pressures for each of the three valves. Is there a needle valve to adjust those pressures up. We are feeding the main stack of valves from a "power beyond" fitting in one of the SCV valves on a 4230 JD. It has a small throttle valve ( which is full open) in line to the mower valve . It might be that I have good pressure but not much flow because of this. Any suggestions?? Thanks |

| I have never had that problem. I wonder if you could swicth the hoses to one of the other crossover releif valves and see if it changes the speed of that cylinder.
Northern tool has a Prince crossover relief valve for $99. It's rated for 30GPM and 3000psi max pressure. I think this would work if you need a new one. |

| I'll look into that valve. Thanks |

| You can also check Surpluscenter.com but you need to know what flow and psi the old one has.
If you need bearing and seal part #'s for the blade spindle, I can check my parts bin.
