Subject: Ocmis irrigation reel Comer gearbox problem- fix, buy new part, or replace?

Fired up the Ocmis irrigation reel for the first time this season yesterday.  Yes we're in the wet part of this crazy summer but things are starting to dry up around here.  Anyway, fired it up and water and gear oil started firing out of the gearbox.  Took it apart and there's a chunk broken out of the aluminum turbine impeller and the impeller shaft is bent that goes into the gearbox that winds in the hose.

I'm assuming that the impeller spins fast enough that welding the aluminum isn't an option, but maybe it's fixable.  Any ideas? Impeller pic not emailing from my phone at the moment for some reason so it's not included.  Basically looks like a jagged piece of pie was removed.

Also, has anybody taken a Comer gearbox apart?  It looks like a D-742 model from here on page 127.  Part of the code number from the gearbox itself has 742 in it and the pic looks the same, so I'm assuming it has to be it.

The shaft I want to remove is the small one sticking out on the left of the pic that shows the geabox from the side.  The back end of the shaft is accessible after removing a frostplug and a circlip that holds in the bearing.  A circlip holds in the bearing on the part that sticks out, too.  Thumping on the shaft will move the shaft and bearing into the box a bit but then it stops.  Same thing happens when beating it back into place from the end that's totally covered with the frostplug (not shown from the back) There's a keyed gear on it on the side that has the shaft sticking out that's larger than both frostplug holes.  There's also a gearshaft above it and in the way from the top, and that one looks more complicated to take apart than the one that's bent.  Any hints besides beating the snot out of it until something gives?

Once the shaft comes out, I can either take it to a good machine shop to be duplicated or get another one from Comer, but I'm sure it'd be easier to get a whole gearbox from them than individual parts, but I may be wrong.  What would you do if you had this problem?  I might be able to find out more about part cost and availability on Monday.

Impeller pic.  I unscrewed the drain plug myself last fall, but the only thing I cna think of that did this was ice.  Either more got in after I drained it, or enough remained in the housing to freeze under one of the vanes and push it up far enough to break it after bending the shaft.
