central - east central Minnesota - | scmn_06 - 7/11/2011 22:06 Where could I find individual chisel plow shank assemblies either used or new? Looking for 6 or so. If you can use the older style . . .. craiglist - buy the complete chisel plow and use what you need. Generally in the $500 - $1000 dollar range. |

Blue Earth, MN | Reeeeallly! We'll talk. |

Brazilton KS | Loran, 1600 uses a different shank then 1610 or 610. I'm guessing the 1710a uses the 1610-610 shank. the 1600 is about a 26" shank and is 1" or possibly 1 1/8" thick. The 1610 is about 32" an I think 1 1/4" thick. Just something you guys ought to be thinking about to make sure you are on the same page. |

|
NE SD | 610/1610 standard was 28" I think. I don't think the high clearance 32" shank came about until the 680 or 2400. |

Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA | I thought 1600 and 1610 were the same length, just different thickness and point bolt size. I'll have to go look; we have one of each.

Brazilton KS | 1600 and 1610 are different height. We had two 1600 shanks left over from our first chisel plow and I discovered that they didn't fit when I wanted to add one to the short end of our 665 air seeder when we got it. |

Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA | Were 1610 shanks available in two different lengths like IH 55 shanks? I think I would have noticed a big difference like 26 to 32".

Brazilton KS | 1600 is more like 26" and 1610 is about 30" We had a Krause which had 16" shanks and a DMI which had 32" You would think there would be some standardization but there wasn't |

|
NE SD | Just look through the parts. 1610, 610, and 680 all had 28" shanks standard. 32" became an option on the 680 and is still optional. Has an extra 100lbs trip strength. |

swmn | I have 6 or 7 new true depth shanks off a JD 2410. Not 100% sure I want to sell them, but will think about it. |

|
Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA | Near as I can tell with a tape measure, there is no difference between the length of our 1600 and 1610 shanks.
