| I took this pump apart once before when it wouldn't pump and it went to working. I took it apart this morning and couldn't find any obvious problems with the diaphrams. The motor and pistons work...it just won't pump.
Pretty much a shame when the pump assy is $61 and the entire sprayer is $100.
Any ideas?

Then next load - nothing. Took apart agian and nothing. Wouldn't work again . . . . . . I don't have a clue why it looks fine, but will not work. |

| Do those pumps have check valves ? If they do , they might not be sealing all the way . |

![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=1119&type=profile&rnd=391) Macon, IL | Farm & Fleet sells a rebuild kit-but like you I have taken them apart and seen nothing wrong. Sometimes help to prime it-even though self priming-but they never stay working long once they start failing. I think I have 3 sitting in the corner of shed to fix someday. Seem to last me between 1 and 2 years. Almost need to keep a spare one around those things.
I have found the "Delevan" brand one I have now seems to hold up longer-been on for 2.5 years and still pumping.

| Yes, that's the assy I was checking when I took it apart. Couldn't find an obvious problem.

| We don't have Farm and Fleet here, but I googled it and I see that they have a check valve assy listed for $19 on their website.
Thanks for the tip.

| I just ordered the parts directly from Fimco...same price as F&F. Just FYI.

| The most common and dependable 12v pumps are Flojet and Sureflo, so maybe it is time to get a sprayer with a "good" pump. Don't buy on price but on quality. |

| It is a Shur-Flo...so much for your two cents.

![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=1423&type=profile&rnd=83) tennessee | Jon, I've got one similar to the one you have. Mine just quits working all together, I can take the very back part off and then put it back on and it will start working again. Gets real frustrating trying to spray and it just quits. Mine does it usually when I close the bypass valve off to use the hand sprayer, it will spray until you stop spraying, then it just goes dead. Guess it's time for a new one, mine don't last long either. |

Gettysburg, SD | mine does same thing. i found if i un-attach the discharge side, stick a screwdriver in there and wiggle it around awhile, it will work again. i think something gets sticky... |

| Have one very similar, had the same thing happen to me this spring getting it ready to go. I hooked up the suction side to the hydrant, turned the hydrant on so the suction side of the pump was pressured, then turned the pump on. I let it pump for 2 or 3 minutes like this. Hooked it back up and worked well since then. |
