| Can an individual replace a wheel motor seal that has begun to seep on an 854 RoGator, or are special tools needed? We are talking about a $200 part and my time, or a $2000 service call. Thanks in advance for any responses. |

Sac & Story county IA | If you can get the use of the tools, you should be able to.
Call around to several hydro shops to see if they can get them apart and back together. |

W. Illinois | We have had two seals done on our 854. It's a job I would NOT be comfortable doing myself. There may be one or two "special" tools that our tech used. I think the last one we had worked on ran $1300 - $1400 for parts and labor. |

Newfane NY | What kind of grease are you using. At a meeting this winter we where told to use a high temp grease. Service man had stories of farmers using cheap grease and it melted and they thought it was leaking. By cheap grease I mean the kind you put in your pickup window and it leaks and runs all over. The 99cent kind. John |

Ontario's West Coast , Huron County | Make sure the wheel nuts are not loose . Had a guy this spring at my place and that was all it was . Service tech he talked to told him to tighten it right away or chance loosing the wheel .

| The only special tools needed are metric allen wrenches. The seal itself is easy to change ,its getting to it thats the hard part there is a hub inside the wheel motor that runs on 4 sets of sealing rings like found in a powershift trans. All 8 rings must line up when putting back together not a fun job. If your seal is just seeping just keep pumping the grease to it had one like that go 2 years before replacing. Parts were around 300 canadian and 700 labor |
