N/E Iowa | A neighbor told me they are made by H & S mfg. When i priced both Frontier, and H & S there was $700.00 difference. Has anyone owned a frontier, and were you satisfied with the job it does? I only have 35 acres of hay, and waterway mix hay to make, then we roll up 300 corn stalk bales. Thanks for any replys! |

Southcentral WI | Frontier hay products, at least the rakes and mergers, are made by H&S. Good rakes, popular up here(H&S and Frontier) |

. | I was told Frontier was made by Tonutti; when we compared them, the Frontier had smaller diameter rake wheels. H&S is a very popular rake. We ended up buying a Kuhn, which is built heavier than the others, a little more $, but felt it was worth it. |

Central NC, Rowan County | We have a Frontier WR2010. It's been over a thousand or so acres and we haven't had any problems that weren't caused by the operator. It folds up nicely to the width of the tractor with the hydraulics. Quick and easy. Used for 3 seasons so far and I would buy another one. Works good on corn stalks, too. |

Denhoff,ND right in the center of the State | I have a Frontier that I bought in fall of 05 has been a excellent rake has been over many thousand acres and still have original teeth not broken yet, they are exactly the same rake as a H&S and Hesston too, and believe the C IH too. They are green so they must be good, right!!!!!!!!!!!!! Terry |

Sumner GA, Located in southwest GA, | Depends on what model you are looking at. If it is the el cheapo v rake, the caddy style rake, save your money IMO, not a good rake, or at least the one I used, didn't rake good, didn't transport well, and flopped everywhere, |

N/E Iowa | This is a new 3010 frontier vertical rake..... Outright for $ 4,900.00, or the same thing in a H & S for $5,600.00. Someone says you can't change the teeth?? My ole H & S you could. I don't want to spend $ 9,000.00 on a bi-fold, thats too much for my "smaller" operation. Thanks for all the info. |

Sumner GA, Located in southwest GA, | Your entitled to do what you want, but I would spend a little more for a Kuhn or Massey or something a bit better myself, will thank yourself later. |

Denhoff,ND right in the center of the State | The smaller carted rakes are junk, run fast, I used one for a year and the wheels were falling off, it was a Vermeer made by tonnuni. Go for a byfold even if you could find a used one for less $s would be much better rake, they are not high capacity and are always plugged up. Terry |

| Have you looked at the Odgen rakes? They are a vertical rake like the one's you listed, but the wheels are in front of the beam like the hi-cap's. We just bought a left over 12 wheel and didn't pay much more than the prices you listed. We haven't used it yet, but I can tell you they at least 2x heavier than the H&S CR10 we had.
We got ours from Fenton Repair just north of Strawberry Point. His website is Fentonrepair.com. |
