Subject: Grazon on lawn ?

West Point, NE

My friend lives in town and has horrible dandylions. I know it works well in the pastures on them but all I'm using is a 5 gal backpack sprayer and wondering what i should mix the rate as .....for roundup in it i think is like 1/2 to 1cup per gallon of water, i know this is strong but i want it dead. I do not want to kill her lawn for her so figured I'd ask for some help beforehand

thanks in advance

Man, I would not use Grazon on a lawn. It has Tordon in it and that might be killing a lot of other stuff besides dandelions.

I think you should stick to a regular lawn herbicide like a trimec which is a mix of 24D, Dicamba and MCPA ( I think). Killing dandelions at this time of year is tough, so knock them back now and then hit them again this fall when they are storing up energy for winter. The fall spraying will be more effective.

I have used Grazon on my lawn for many years with no problem maybe 3 oz to a 3 gallon sprayer. I do keep the spray away from my wife flowers...and small trees. Our Grass is Tex turf Bermuda.

Tordon's was disappointing for me cutting trees and putting it on the stumps. Saplings always came back...and I put a lot of it on the stumps.

Used it for years with no problem it works great just have to watch wind direction as with any of these products. I have had real good luck using it 2.6 pt to the acre.
