What would a 21B Allis crawler tractor with a double link ZOR plow attached be worth. Spun a rod bearing crank needs built up, new bearings,,,,,,,approx $13000 to make it go again. Is it worth it or is their a market for a heavy duty bolt on plow for a BIG dozer? This tractor had new rails last fall. Laser controlled plow.

You can see what 21 is worth at Rock and Dirt web site

Trouble is its a AC which in the Construction has been a dead issue for a number of years .

Will the plow fit a D8 or Komatsua or Even a Dresser TD 25 or 30

Could it be re engined with a Cummins or Detroit ?
Does it have the Diesel Torque converter?
Have seen a number of smaller ACs re-engined to Detroit's.
Hope this helps , if it was closer would think about it and reengine it with something more common .

The tile plow will bolt on to any tractor with a flat back. What would a engine cost? I know that is a broad question. There is quit a hole in it to drop something else in it. Was planning on getting something different this summer....Wolfe.

How good are you at gluing?
The gov't is getting rid of a bunch of 400 Cummins motors.

One of those in that tractor would lay a lot of tile.
About a dime on the dollar of the Allis parts.
I have a D8 with 8V71T. I get a lot of work out of it.

I could sell it to you and you could get your glue stick and hot glue out and do it. What value does a repowered tractor have versus selling it as is?

I am prepared to offer you $2500 cash for it as it sits. your response - "I'll bet you are!" But seriously, with a machine that has significant value ($20K just crawler - more has a set up tile plow) it's well worth a little time with a fork lift and an air wrench to pull the engine (they come out much faster than installation). If the motor mounts to anything like an SAE bellhousing, there are many engines to choose from. As posted earlier 855's in working condition are available for $2000 at times - run fuel supply, return, throttle linkage and 12v pump shut off. Radiator plumbing will require some creativity, but it's surprisingly easy once you get a few 90s and some tubing.

thanks,

Pat

Have seen a lot of those repowered to cummins or cat that's likely the cheapest way out.

I know how hard those deals are. I am finally getting wise to it. I practice up on retiring whenever I can.
I don't know what to say about value. My dozers have always been about scrap iron price. Not all day everyday units. They are worth what they will do for me.

I have. But I was in the military and sort of know how the gears turn or don't. The employees of that organization that I have dealt with have been decent fellows. Make sure you get a bargain because there will be some hassle factor.
