| What oil should be used in the chain gearcases, and how much should they hold. TIA. |

| If I remember there is a oil level plug near the bottom of the chain case between the wheels. Doesn't take but a little oil. |

| Thanks guys. Rowfarmer gave the spec sheet at 5 qts each. Did some searching and found most put in 7-8 to be on the safe side. One even mentioned using used engine oil (calls for 10w30). 15w40 should be fine, right? Got water in one side and froze solid. Outside of access covers and park brake boots (both questionable) would water get in these? |

| We always ran Hytran in em to help with the water and freezing issues. Also parked them with the lap bars down so the park pins wouldnt freeze in at night. The chain and hub access covers were always a pain to keep right. |
