Northeast Nebraska | Can't decide which color to go-wondering if anyone has had issues with either one. |
| |
| I think you will get biased answers in this and mine is haha. I have never drove the John Deere 8530 and each tractor has its advantages and John Deere does a great job with their tractors but I am an old ih man at only 22 years old. I work for a man that just bought a 435 steiger and 335 magnum. The 335 is a great tractor. I love how smooth they ride when working in the fields. Enough power to pull just about anything. Cab is amazing, quiet, and very comfortable for those long days. I really like the transmission compared to a john deere and that's not saying theirs is bad, its just a preference.
Talk to both dealers and see what the better deal financially for you is. If its a big enough dealer, they may have one or a similar one in the yard that you can take a little test drive in.
Goodluck!!! |

| We have mx270 mx210 jd8300, jd 8430 ils ivt. Both brands are nice, but I feel the ILS IVT Deere is great. |
| |
| I dont think anybody can seriously argue against a Deere,ILS,IVT better engine and cab, higher resale value... |
| |
Alma NE | I have been running the 8530 at work all day IVT and ILS that thing pulls great and feels like you just float over the field it is so smooth riding.
Way better than the mx270 it replaced |

Your moms house | Who's got better service. What color is your other iron and if you have auto steer and what kind? I would buy the deere because I'm biased but also cause we have 3 auto steer systems and all that I would have to do is plug one in and go, you wouldn't have to mess with the universal wheel kits. |

SW KS, near Dodge City | better engine and cab,...
Must not have ever been in a magnum cab before. I still prefer the cab on my mx285 to the R series cab, and they're better than the 30 series. That said I'd buy the one w the best service, all else being equal.

EC IL | Buy them both....then bring them over here for a year and I will offer an unbiased opinion. :) |

| I have a 335 and use to have a 8520 I basically switched because of price. The 335 is a good tractor but if I had my choice again I would go with deere, much better riding, shifting and service. The 335 will beat you to death in a really rough field. |

Flora IL | Oh I'm sure its just terrible. What's the price difference ? And what's ur dealer support like and like the other asked what do u run currently |

South-central Nebraska | I'm considering replacing an 8200 with a Deere 8430 or 8295R and want to compare to a Magnum as well, probably a 305. Deep down I have a love/hate for Deere but have nothing against a Magnum. What I have found is equal horsepower, the Magnum is 15-20K cheaper. If I go red I add yet another dealer to what I already am working with. I base purchases on service as much as performance. |
| |
nebraska | ils and ivt are hard to beat. Both tractors are nice but if i was going to sit in one all day that ils front end will win every time |
| |
South-central Nebraska | I ran a CaseIH 245 for a day with the suspended front axle and better cab and thought the ride was as good as any. |
| |
Northeast Nebraska | I grew up running Case, went Green and currently run a 8400 with a power chip--dealer network favors a green purchase.
| |
Idaho | We have a couple of each, 285 270 305 and had a 285 with the suspended axle, also 8230 8330 8430 8530. I do like the cab on the mx's if any of the electronics would stay working or work at all. The 30 series cab is a little smaller yes but the r series is more comparable to the mx's. Our 8230 will out pull our 285 any day of the week on any equipment I contribute most of it to the transmission being able to find the perfect speed to the use the power. Also when you hit a hard spot while tilling the ivt will slip into auto and sometimes the 305 in auto shift will not power shift quick enough and kill the engine. The mx's aren't bad but for our operation the 30 series have been great with fewer break downs. We have not tried a 335 but our 8530's have run much better than our 305. |
| |

| Yes. I think Case definetly has the better cab on the newer tractors.
| |
| Those being the only choices my personal preference would be the CaseIH; you stay away from the emissions equipment under the hood of the '30 series. |

RRV, MN | Jaydee- i dont know what your experience is is either tractor, but i find it hard to believe its been enough to judge that the magnum cab or the 8.3/9.0L cummins vs. the deere. If you want motor reliability do some history on the 8.3/9.0L cummins vs. the deere motor. Both are good engines but there has been alot more 20/30 series deere's going down for motor issues than what you hear of the cummins. i realize there will be more troubles with more being sold, but to say its a better motor is pretty far fetched. As far as the cabs go, spend some time in them without your green shaded glasses on and be a judge then.
every man's opinion is more than fine it just gets hard for me to take what you say seriously when everypost you have lately is pretty much the same. CIH sucks, Deere is great no matter what it revolves around, and no matter if you have tried it or not. |
