I know on the 70 and 90 series you have to watch out for the ball joints by the wheels they get wore and the hubs/wheels will toe out. Other than that i think they are a good tractor.

We have a Case 4694 and it works great. Make sure you test it out in all 3 steering modes to make sure they work. If steering sensors start to go bad, they can get costly. You'll mostly want to use 4 wheel steer, but there is also Front wheel steer and Crab steer.

Run............go look at older CaseIH Magnums, allot better tractor. As are many other colors and models. Also, Randall's equipment is usually fairly rough, and Randall's will tell you that up front....they also have some good stuff on the lot, but most of his stuff is off color dealer trades from what I have seen. ( if the farmer did not want it.....and the trading dealer did not want it........that says allot right there!)

Had a Case 4490, the only good day I had with that tractor was seeing it leavve the farm for a new owner 250miles away.

We had a 4690 back in the late 90's, what a piece of $#!+. I don't think a 4494 is much different. I wouldn't run one if the dealer paid me.

I've had one for 2 years. I really like it - have had problems with the 4 wheel steer - I hope to get it fixed over winter. They pull pretty good, but will run hot - check the strata tube for birds and mice. Nice ride and roomy cab. I bought someone elses clunker and am rebuilding it - the price was right and so far its been ok.
