The power take off on my John Deere 7810 quit working. I haven't used it for 3-4 months, then it worked great. Was going to use it today and the shaft turns really slow, doesn't seem to speed up with increase of engine rpms. The pto light comes on like normal. Does not flash or indicate a problem. When I turn the pto switch on I can hear a click from the solenoid above the shaft. What do I need to do to get this working?? Thanks in advance!!

I think its M14 thread ,the orifice in the pto valve can block and not allow the spool to move.Once you know if you have pressure or not you can work it out what the possible causes are

I went out on a call a few years ago on a 6410 that had that same problem. There was a bit of debris plugging the orfice on the modulating valve. Cleaned it out and it has been working fine since. Since the light doesn't flash, there probably isn't a code which would indicate that the electrical part is fine. A pressure check would be helpful as KelB suggested. Good luck.

Do I need to take the modulating valve block off the back of the tractor to get that out? Thanks

Yeah, if you are real careful, you won't tear the gasket and can reuse it. Good luck.
