Aquintance of mine has a Case 1830 skid loader for sale he hasn't used it much in the last few years should be decently maintained. I don't plan using it alot myself Are they any good? What are they worth? Can I get parts for it? What do I need to know about it?

is it a gas or deisel? as far as whats it worth go to tractorhouse.com I think some of the prices on there are high but need to start somewhere. I have a 1987 1853B and love it for the size also have a 1845 it's alot bigger but both or good skids. parts can get from any CIH dealer I think or any case const. dealer I'm sure if price is right and you know where it came from (your friend) it's worth alittle more. They are easy to run and are good michine's good luck

Is it gas or diesel ? We had a gas and some of the parts for the motor were getting hard to get and if you could find the parts they were pricey. Ours was old old and had alot of use.

Run as fast as you can from a 1830. They have a renault engine that wont start worth a dam and no power to boot. Everything else about the machine is fine but the motor is a deal breaker

Ive got an 1830 gas I use every day. Ive had it 18 years and haven't done anything major to the engine. I have been into the chain housings a few times though.

My dad bought ours brand new and still use it everyday. A couple years ago we put a little 3 cyl. Kubota diesel in it. Exellent little machine easy to get parts it will be around for a while yet.

We are on our 3rd 1845 in about 30 years, the first 2 spent lots of time on the dairy side of things, scraping feeding moving big bales and such, the last 2 have been moving hay and thats about it, other then one hydro pump, and general maintenance they have been super loaders. All three have been diesel.

A buddy of mine had one with the diesel , the engine was virtually indestructible. He ran it hot so many times it wasn't even funny ( the vanes were gone from the waterpump ) , he ran it out of fuel numerous times and crippled it to where he needed to be with ether. It went 9 years without an oil change . and the engine held together but it seems to me it wasn't a renault engine but a cummins . It's a little on the small side, but handy as a pocket on a shirt .
