Subject: Case IH hy-tran vs. AGCO Permatran 821XL

I need to fill up my bulk oil tank and have to choose between the two.

Anyways, who makes the the better fluid?

Lastly, does anyone know where I can find ASTM data for both fluids?

WNY
Both are high quality fluids but the hy-tran dissapates the most moisture of any hydraulic fluid on the market.

SEIA
Wanna know a secret?

They are the same oil or at least eerily similar. Both come from same manufacturer. At least they did not all that long ago.

Gotta love private labeling.

I would use neither. I used to use Case IH hy-tran until I locked up a flow control valve running a orbit motor. Then I talked to a Schaeffer Oil Rep and he told me to use Simplex Supreme 315. We dropped 35 degrees on the orbit pump.
