SW MN | What's the difference between the cabs. Cost to go the premium is it worth it? Thanks for the help. |

SE SD | JUST the cabs or a 7230 premium Vs a 7230? |
|

|
SW MN | I thought the cab was the only thing different but maybe you could tell about the difference in the whole premium package. Thanks |

SE SD | don't know all the differences. but the 7230 premium has the 4 valves per cylinder in the head vs 2--- both have the 6.8 motor. the premium also has a higher volume hyd pump standard.
there is other differences also , but those are the two biggies that caught my eye----I think the rest may just be creature comforts, but not positve |

Northeast Iowa | A salesman told me the Premium package gets you more space than a standard cab. When I mentioned that I had been at a focus group at Deere in 2004 and a bunch of Canadians at the group were discussing how much they all disliked their 7020 Series cabs because of visibility and lack of space, and how they wanted to trade back to their previous 7000 and 7010 Series, he admitted that the 7020 Series cab was shrunk down compared to the 7010 Series. The Premium package on the 7030 Series basically takes you back to what you would have had with a 7010 Series . . . . and only costs you a few thousand bucks to do it while Deere tells you they did not have a major price increase in the base tractor, because they are trying to help you, the customer, control costs.
It must take at least a Master's in Psychology to work in Marketing there, I'm guessing. |

Southeast Florida | The regular has open center hydraulics only and the premium has PFC hydraulics. A lot has to do with what you plan to do with the tractor in the future. |

West Point, IL | hydraulics is the main thing |

NW Washington | The JD site has the specs on these two tractors. http://www.deere.com/servlet/ProdCatProduct?tM=FR&pNbr=7230_RW |

northwest missouri | Neighbor has one - I think the hitch is lighter on the standard and fewer lights, only one on the back, hyd outlets like 6000 series, as best I remember |

hydraulics is the main thing
Very true - this can be a major problem if the tractor is being used with a loader.

SE Michigan | I bought a 7230 w/ loader in 12/07 Standard cab. It just depends on your taste. With the standard, you get less lighting (standard) and less hydraulics (option). You can upgrade the hydraulics on the standard cab, at least when I bought it, to the premium standards. That was the biggest issue with the standard cab though, just the cab. I only needed/wanted (cause I'm cheap) standard cause it's just for spraying, moving seed for my seed business, mowing and odd jobs. Premium cab had a better seat, lighting, stereo, controls etc. 4 remotes, I think, were standard as well w/ the premium, but you can still get it with the standard if you paid for it. Depends on your taste and pocket book. |
