West central Illinois | Anyone have any experience with the JCB Teleskid tracked skid loaders. Real world experience, longevity, reliability, etc. Thanks |

Mid-Missouri | Not a perfect machine but wouldn't want any other at the moment. |

NEMO | I'm on my second one and I would not want to go back to using a regular skid steer. It's just one of those features that I find myself using a lot. Loading the manure spreader I can reach the far side, cleaning out ditches you can go alot deeper without having to go into the ditch and you can load pallets to the front of a truck box or the far side side of a trailer. Just a few examples of what we use it for but I realize it's not an option that everyone will have a use for. |

SCIA | It does for for pushing yourself out better than just trying to roll your bucket. |

|
Saline County, Mo | Ya be curious to see how they handle skid steer abuse outside of the farm yard. |

NEMO | I try not to abuse equipment but there's times moving large tree trunks and brush and pulling out some larger trees that I probably pushed it to the limits and it didn't hurt it. Don't know how it would hold up on a job ramming into dirt and rock day after day but there's probably people doing it.
I've had no issues with either one. |

NEMO | You can call Abe at Seivers JCB of Saint Louis and talk to him he's about as honest a salesman as you'll find and he's sold a lot of teleskids and will tell you any issues they have and what to look for.

![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=17295&type=profile&rnd=358) NE Alberta | We have one and like it a lot. Between the telescoping boom, side door, and excellent visibility, it is unbeatable in our application. The 2022 models and later have much better "feathering" on the controls than earlier ones. The quality control from the factory sucks, so a good dealer is important. |

Savannah, NY | Have a 2019 3TS-8 with 1200 hours. No repairs in that time. Tracks and drive sprockets have a lot of life left. I did tweek the boom a little bit. Left side of bucket hangs about 1 inch lower than right side when tilted down. Did it dragging logs out of woods. Starts easy in single digit temperatures. |

| we bought jcb teleskid 2ts7t new from reuters equipment in Elkhart Iowa never seen such a poorly designed terribly engineered skid steer before and we have had every brand starting with a 1959 hydra mac 8a the front idler in the track undercarriage is far too small to accomodate the side door and the track tensioner is too weak allowing the tracks to constantly roll off we weren't working on slopes either the electric attachment plate lockdowns broke 14 times in 1 year the lifetime warrantied loader arm bent and they wouldn't warranty it in short junk |

![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=17295&type=profile&rnd=358) NE Alberta | If I had experienced the same JCB issues as you, I would also be bitter. However, my experience has been different (but like I posted earlier, the factory quality control sucks). I am not at all familiar with the 2TS-7T, but the front drive idler on our 3TS-8T is NOT smaller than other full size machines. I wonder if part of your "track coming off" problems were due to something other than idler size. JCB (and many others) use a single front idler and dual rear idlers. I believe some may use double front idlers and a single rear idler. If I remember correctly, CAT uses double front and rear idlers, with the double front idlers "capturing" the track aligning lugs better than a single idler like JCB and many others use, and helping prevent "track roll off". In 450 hrs, I have had a track roll off once (when cleaning up a rock pile). I thought I was being careful but something may have gotten in there. I would like JCB (and everyone else) to copy the CAT dual front idler system.
We have had our dealer readjust the plate attachment lock down pins (they are spring loaded and needed more tension on the springs). I agree that the design needs improving for doing heavy work. Part of the issue is that the universal skid steer attachment plate that everyone uses was designed years ago when machines were much smaller and the new large machines are stressing the design to the limit. We also found that the fit of the bottom plate (especially the hole size) of MANY of our attachments was not uniform and not optimum for retention when backing up with the attachment dragging. I have been "tuning up" the bottom holes in our attachments which helps a lot (the attachment manufacturers should be paying much more attention to this).
