swmn | This is for a 9660 Deere. Thinking I get to make a call in the morning. Old chain has 35 paddles new one only 34 with one missing in the middle. (PXL_20240818_202056948 (full).jpg) Attachments ---------------- PXL_20240818_202056948 (full).jpg (274KB - 12 downloads)

NE ND | I had the same thing with a 9600. Called and asked, the extra spot is for a moisture or yield sensor or something. It needs an open spot for the reading I think I don’t really know. I put it in and it works just fine. That was probably 3-4 years ago and it’s still working fine.

NE Iowa | Supposed to be that way for the yield sensor I was told. New chains from john deere are the same way.

SOIL | I've had bad luck with Shoup elevator chains wearing out faster than Deere OEM. Lost paddles, worn chains after only two years.

Northeast Louisiana | I don’t remember having the gap in mine. Actually, I have had good luck with Shoup elevator chain/paddles. But, I think it was made in USA at the time. Edited by SteigerSt320 8/18/2024 21:00

West-Central Missouri | You might make sure they put locknuts on those paddles. I had one from them without and paddles started coming loose.

swmn | Yes that was today's job, noticed a couple of them weren't tightened up all the way. Was going to run a ratchet over them all.

NE Neb | Agree just as well start with nylon lock nuts if you don't have them. I don't know where they bought thier lock nuts at but they suck.
