S MN | 3” in the last hour here. And still pouring. Man this is getting catastrophic. If mn ratings aren’t down 10% on Monday, I’ll flip. |

Doubt they'll be down much on Monday. The data is collected prior to the Friday before.
The next week is when they should (but probably won't) drop.

Town just south of Sioux Falls had a reported 20" in the last 24 hrs. Lots of 8-10" totals I'm hearing. Water absolutely everywhere.

| Were in that 8"-10" range depending on which gauge you look at.
20" is almost unbelievable, but its real.

Yep
Losing a crop sucks but next year will (hopefully) be better. Crop insurance will ease the pain.
Losing homes, businesses, bridges, roads, etc take a long long time to rebuild and in some cases the rebuilding never happens.
Locally there are still roads closed from the flooding in 1993. Bridges got washed out and have never been replaced, they never will be. Already reports of bridges being washed out today and its still raining. 2014 was really bad flooding locally, much worse than 1993. Lots of houses lost in local towns.
I'm worried by morning 2024 might be the new record flood.

| 10.75 inches in the last 24 hours south of Madelia Mn. Basement sump pumps running at full blast, and flooding virtually everywhere. |

SW WI | Yup…..our wet years of 2016-2020. Little creek run thru our farm but can cause a lot of damage when the water fills up the banks and gets out. Had to replace our crossing in 2019. I’ve rebuilt diversions, waterways and terraces (sp).
I’m well into 6 figures.
Could be a destructive weekend here, too. Heavy rain last night, now as I type and projected for all day.
Last year we had less than 4” all growing season….probably will get that in a little over 24 hours this weekend.

![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=8587&type=profile&rnd=338) NW IL, Mercer County | Wow. People are losing their homes and businesses to record rains and flooding and you want them to feel bad about your pineapple corn? I will take a crop insurance check 100/100 over rebuilding your life…… |

nc ks | I live in the world where shoulder high pineapples is normal, but getting so much rain that your belongings and animals are in danger is a whole other level of pain and worry. Hope these guys make it out of this as unscathed as possible.
Isn't it fun when someone deletes their post that you responded to? Never the less, prayers out to you guys in the flooding.

Archbold, Ohio | Agreed it looks a little rough here now but one rain would go fix that. You can fix flooding. My grandpa always said you worry to death in a dry year, but you starve to death in a wet year. That’s a very true saying here. |

Minnesota | I made a post a week ago or so that if the Euro model realized it would be ugly and it's ugly. Some places receiving over 15" of rain. MN, SD, and IA are now extremely wet in those areas and it will do considerable crop damage. Unfortunately, damages like that are rarely realized until harvest. The infrastructure damages are the more important thing to watch and in the areas with heavier deluges, they will be significant damage as noted by a few posters on this thread. Hope everyone in those areas made it through ok. At least crop insurance can give some peace of mind. |

Cherokee iowa | I missed it only got 2.1 inches split me thank God. North of me at my brothers 30 miles sounds like widespread disaster. A lot of flooded homes that don’t “need” flood insurance. I’ll be praying for all affected. |
