Good afternoon all Currently demoing a MF 8s 205. Have had issues until today when my father was using it to run wagons and kept saying max speed limit was 15mph. Fine when loaded but not so much when empty. Is there a setting that must have been changed because never had this happen before.

Jeffersonville, OH | white6810 - 11/15/2023 17:05 Good afternoon all Currently demoing a MF 8s 205. Have had issues until today when my father was using it to run wagons and kept saying max speed limit was 15mph. Fine when loaded but not so much when empty. Is there a setting that must have been changed because never had this happen before. Could be about 50 settings depending on what buttons he pushed. Is it set for Autodrive now, with a 15mph max speed? I'm hoping you called the dealer that's nice enough to demo you one and allow them the chance to help you learn it? I also uploaded a couple sections of the operators manual for you. Check and make sure if you have max speeds set, or if it's in Auto mode and has a top speed set. I did contact the dealer but got no response yet. It is exactly what you said the 15mph limit on auto drive but also does it when not in auto drive. I'll look at it tomorrow when I get a chance Thanks for your help

ecmn | What the hell kind of demo is this? Did the dealer just drop it off slap you on the back and tell you good luck? How's the dealer not with you for most of the first day riding with each person who will be driving the tractor to make sure they can do basic functions like this and then sticking around while people drive it by themselves? If this is the kind of support you get during a demo when they're trying to sell to you where are they going to be after they've already got your money? Tell them to get their act together and do a proper demo Edited by easymoney 11/18/2023 05:10

If this is the kind of support you get during a demo when they're trying to sell to you where are they going to be after they've already got your money? Tell them to get their act together and do a proper demo Considering we haven't heard from him, I imagine he may have gotten some help...Also, as a dealer, I get frustrated by demo's when we do them about 90% of the time. I can ride with them for an hour, or all day, but if no questions are asked, I can only show you so much. Then, all phone numbers are left, and we RARELY get a phone call, but when we talk later about any issues we get a list of things they couldn't figure out. I can't help if I don't know, unfortunately, we do not read minds. We once demoed a combine to a local BTO (all Deere customer), left our numbers to them, got them going on a Friday before a long July 4th weekend, and after riding and being there half a day to make sure they were good, left them for the whole weekend to run it. Saturday night they broke a belt, and never called...called the local Deere dealer to try an match one up. I left my Cell number, my Dad, My brother, our Service tech, the local shadetree mechanic that setup the demo had our numbers (and has for 30 years), and one of their employees is a lifelong friend who handed them a phone calling me, and they refused to "bother us" on Saturday night. So, long story short, some people are just like that, and refuse to make life simple. I'm not saying the OP is, he said he called the dealer and no one got back with him...though we don't know if that was 10 minutes or 10 hours... I'm also not trying to defend the dealer, or vilify the customer, it just sounds like a screwy deal, and possibly a missed opportunity....but not all people want, need, or expect the same types of things on a demo, and it takes time to learn what each customer expects of you, and what each dealership "expects" from a customer. ecmn | Absolutely you need to learn what the customer's expectations are. When I did a tractor demo I would do a walk around with everybody that's going to be involved. Then rode with each person or if it was just one person whatever, until they felt comfortable then leave them alone let him operate it play with stuff come up with questions. Sit in my truck for an hour answer phone calls for other people needing help. Jump back in with the tractor see what they have for questions let's take it to the next level of potential features and benefits depending on what they're running. Maybe I have to leave for an hour or two to take care of another emergency but absolutely 100% come back and a check in. I never waited for a phone call. The next morning the minute you knew that customer was up and having coffee I was calling to see what our plan is for the day where are we taking the tractor who's going to be driving it are there any questions we need answers for is there any accessories that we are going to need. Such as a harness to plug into the cab roof to put in there scale for the Manure Spreader or grain cart or other monitor. Little things like that were a fantastic way to show them some of the features and benefits that you normally wouldn't see. Day two was take it to the next level start playing with the monitor going to automatic features things like that. Setting up in a manure spreader with Headland management with the whole end and go buttons to showcase the accuterminal and how to make adjustments how easy that thing really is. I got to work with a team. So no matter what there was always somebody from the company on a demo. If I had to leave and I knew I wasn't going to be able to be back I could call the salesman and say you need to come out here I have to go type deal.

Good evening I am here to update and give more information. As far as the original question about the speed limit. I have gone through the books and have talked with the dealer on multiple occasions and we never came up with a reason why this happened. The next day and since then we have not saw it come up again. The day the dealer dropped this demo off they did give a quick run down over the some of the newer features of the 8s. We are currently running a 6716s, 5711sl and 6475 so we know our way around the Massey Ferguson tractor. There are a lot of features and improvements over what we are running but being busy with harvest we just needed a tractor to be useable as we have been without our 6475 since July as it has been in their shop……. I have no complaints with them but have had enough issues with AGCO equipment this year but still considering the purchase of the 8s.205. We have no colour preference but the green and red/blue ones dollar for dollar are crazy priced.
