What is your favorite, best tasting sweetcorn? Specifically northern climates like Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, etc.

I'm 20 miles nothwest of St Cloud, MN

I've tried more types than I can remember but biclolors tend to win for me and I think good taste has more to do with the weather and timing than the variety

Extra tender 274A non gmo is my early day sweetcorn and would work well for you. You can order it through Rupp seeds.

Really depends on your definition of "good." If you like super high sugar content, you want an su or a synergistic type. I personally don't like them because they are too sweet without as much corn flavor.

If you like more traditional corn flavor with moderate sugar levels, choose an su or se type. They have a shorter picking window and need to be cooked more promptly after harvest to have peak quality.

X2 for Xtra-Tender 274A I believe it’s a 72-74day hybrid. Second would be Sweetness which is around 67-69 day.
If you like all yellow, Honey Select is good for eating or freezing but longer maturity at around 79 day.

We've grown Ilini X-tra Sweet that has a good flavor. A little longer term. Some of the guys that grow commercially here seem to be starting the crop under plastic to give it a head start.

I'm in the same boat. However, I was given some Remedy seed this year. Has anybody tried it before?

I haven’t gotten to eat much of what I try to grow between the coons and the deer there isn’t much left for us But ambrosia and SV9010SA were on top of my favorites. I believe the raccoons ate almost 1.5 acres of SV9010SA in one night Many of them are no longer around

I would plant a few different types.Being sure you isolate the Sh2 from standards and even SE's.Keep it well away from any grain corn pollinating at the same time.Often why some others dislike a certain type others enjoy.Pollen contamination is real. Can make it taste dull.

Had a kernel or 2 of blue on just about every ear of bi-color yellow/white last year here in one large patch. Still not sure who or where the blue pollen came from
