SW Minnesota | Thinking about getting a Rodenator for controlling pocket gophers in alfalfa ground this year. Anybody who has any advice on these would sure be appreciated. Have also seen a gopher blaster I believe and am sure there are others out there. Which is the best one for the money?? |

| got to talking about moles at easter dinner today so one guy googled the rodenater. I didn't watch it but those that did were getting quite a kick out of it. They were relating it to caddyshack. |

Western WI | Funny....I was gonna ask this question also...well kinda. I fabricated my own this weekend. Took the biggest torch tip i had and used a hose clamp to attach the sparker off of a gas grill. The regulator from the acetelyne thraeds right into a propane tank. I wasnt sure how long to lat the gas run so just kept trying a few times. Finally decided on about 1 1/2 minutes ...then wait 5 minutes to hit the sparker so that the gas can disperse further. Seems to work pretty well except i need to enclose the sparker better so that dirt doesnt ground it out. Also seems that the gas doesnt go down hill very well so try to find the down hill mound so the gas will blow more of the uphill tunnels. I was wearing a hard hat with ear protection. Got some very good blasts along with some not so good ones. Best of luck. Dont think i would spend the money for a manufactured one tho. JMO |

Huntley Montana | I bought a used 1 for $600 this spring. Need to get it out & try it. Meet a fellow once that was using Aceteline instead of Propane, said it'ld more more dirt. |

Central Mo | I just use the cutting torch. Moisture in the ground will make a big difference as to how it will blow. The wetter the better. Be sure and wear eye and ear protection. |
