North End I-15 | I had an Iowa Mold air compressor on my service truck . The clutch went bad . It was really pricey from Iowa mold. I happened to mention I was looking for a clutch while in a refridgeration supply house . They had one that fit and worked for half the price. So it might be worth your while to check a refridgeration supply house. Edit: my air drill had electric clutches on 1" shafts . Perhaps a machinery dealer of air carts may have something to work. Franklinton, LA | Is this clutch similar to the ones used to engage the blades on riding lawnmowers? If so, perhaps the clutch from a mower will work.

JD 345 lawn mower has an electric clutch for the mower that I believe is 1 inch with a 4 or 5 inch belt pulley on it.

I don't think you can beat the Xtreme guys on either price or quality. You might have to contact them to work out a will-fit part number as their website catalog seems to be directed more at lawnmower replacement clutches ... https://xtremeope.com/ http://www.ebay.com/sch/ppowersales/m.html?item=271953580792&hash=i... Otherwise, your choices are basically OEM suppliers Warner or the Japanese mfgr Ogura. http://www.warnerelectric.com/products/clutch-products Edited by biscuit 3/28/2017 16:49

Kamsack Saskatchewan, Canada | Don't even think of a clutch from a lawn mower, they are way to light. You want a heavy duty clutch, like from Warner Electric. We have electric clutches on 3 different augers from 20HP to 35 HP, and they all have Warner Electric clutches on them. They are the #1 used clutch on new augers set up with electric shut offs

Franklinton, LA | I appreciate your commenting on this. I was wondering about the durability of this type clutch.

Kamsack Saskatchewan, Canada | Yes, they are way to light. Will work on empty auger, but imagine trying to start auger in a bin if tough grain, with the auger shut of full. Sometimes those clutches take a beating. One must remember, that you also need some sort of kit, not only with the wiring , since switches are located 1 in the back, and 1 on the motor, but bolts that go to the engine block to keep the clutch from turning itself. If a guy is handy, this would be no problem to make, and I suppose a person don't need 2 switchs for on off , although this is handy

12VDC lawnmower pto clutches are either made by Warner Electric or the Japanese Ogura with the upstart Xtreme trying to push into the business. It's all basically the same stuff. 250-300 ft-lbs torque and up to around 30-40 hp. The only thing that changes for the most part is the size of the driving pulley and the shaft size. Kamsack Saskatchewan, Canada | biscuit - 3/28/2017 16:16 Lawnmower pto clutches are either made by Warner Electric or the Japanese Ogura with the upstart Xtreme trying to push into the business. It's all the same stuff. Same style, same company, NOT the same clutch. Warner makes 100s of different clutches, all designed for different applications. Are you trying to say a warner electric clutch on a 500 hp combine is the same as a warner clutch on a 18 hp riding mower?

The electric clutch in your Brandt parts page has the same root clutch foundation (Warner CMS250 series) "everyone" uses on lawnmowers, good for 250 ft-lbs. The "different" clutches they sell built on that single base unit only accommodate different driving pulley sizes, shaft sizes and electrical pigtails. Edited by biscuit 3/28/2017 16:51

Kamsack Saskatchewan, Canada | Very possible , but our augers got the 350 foot -pound clutches. They are 8" and 10". I believe you are correct if he has a smaller auger like a 7". On that note , we used to have a 7" x45' auger that had the smaller electric clutch which worked fine for the first few years , but we blew that clutch a few times when the auger jammed in real wet grain. Depending on what conditions you would use that auger, the 250 would be fine, but if I had to ever put one in a 7" again, I'd move one size up.
