Subject: Grain Cart Tarp : Agri-Cover or Shurco?

Arva, Ontario

We have a 674 Brent cart a few years old, and are considering splurging on a tarp.

We have several ShurLok's on the place, and really have few complaints.

On the later model Brents, if factory ordered, they will come with an Agri-Cover SR-2 (I'm pretty sure), and all of the holes for this tarp are already punched in the cart.

The price difference isn't appreciable, I have experience with a ShurLok, the holes are in the cart for the SR-2.

Anyone have any experince with either/both that would greatly sway them one way or another?

Thanks for any insight,

Luke     aka Ken SWOnt

we've got a shurlok on our 674 and love it. I'm sure the other brand will be just fine but one thing to remember on the shurlok is that with the end caps you gain a little capacity. It allows you to hump it up more. Not really that important, tho

We have a ShurLok on our Demco buggy and it works fine. However just today we started to install a Agri-cover SR-2 on a wagon. Got it from a neighbor and like the ease of rolling and unrolling the cover better than a ShurLok trap. Just my opinion.

You will not be able to pile grain above the bows with SR-2 but no problem rolling in the wind due to the spring pressure. I have SR-2 on cart and truck and like them alot. Rolls straight with no problems.

Unless you find a reason to dislike the SR2, I'd avoid drilling more holes and just put it on. More holes = more problems. AgriCover is a great product on trucks, carts, wagons, and on pickups. I won't own another pickup w/o their "laredo" cover.

Have one of each thought I liked the shurlok better had it first but would definately go with the agri cover it is alot lower profile and also rolls better plus the holes are already their and the is quite abit of drilling on the other one. Tarps are great either one would be a big help

My neighbor has put together trucks, boxes and hoist for 30 plus years. Used to always put on shurloks but recently has gone to AgriCover. He claims they are a much better tarp. We put one on our truck 5 years ago and have been very happy with it.

Just put SRT Agri-cover on 670 Brent. It is nice! Makes my Shurlok on the semi seem ancient. And yeah noticed today my semi is due for another dang bungee cord, My vote is for the SRT Agricover, man that thing rolls smooth!
