![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=11197&type=profile&rnd=83) Oregon | First off, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I need a pair of 18.4R 26 R-1 tires for a 6320L tractor we just bought. We bought it for orchard work but it will also be used as a utility tractor and maybe pull a grain drill and light/small tillage work. I prefer Firestone 23 degree radials. They have been good for us on several row crop tractors. The only tire available from Firestone in that size is an FWD tread. Will that tire be suitable? I had a set of Goodyear Dyna Torque radials in the early nineties that I thought were fine back then. I've used only 23 degree Firestones since then though, only because I feel they are the best pulling tread design our use which is 99% dry dirt work, about 50% hard dry dirt work. According to my tire guy, the Dyna Torque is available in that size. I did a search and there seems to have been a loud majority against Goodyear...but I stumbled onto TheGrizz on some older posts. It sounded like he acknowledged past failures and vowed to do better in the future . I didn't see any real resent posts. So, have the Goodyears improved? Should I just go with the FS FWD tread?

North Central Missouri | Goodyear are made by Titan I believe. Good for a year has been my experience. My best tire on farm is Michelin. I have looked at tractors 16 years old with 6000 hours and original Michelin tires look amost new. |

West Central Indiana | The FWD Tread of Firestones is almost the same as the 23's. |

Wi | FWDs are fine, they are targeted at front tires for MFWD tractors.
Goodyears have not gotten better, the Grizz stops in the hear himself talk once and awhile but that's about it. |

Mankato Minnesota |
Goodyear tires suck. Go with Firestone or Michelin. |

s.e. Pa | They may make a front tread that looks like the 23's, but I think the fwd tires are like a twisted 45.

Saronville NE | Everyone complains bout Goodyear tires. But have a set on a 5250 on a heavy feed wagon that has 2500 hrs on em, bout half tread left, never a problem and were way cheaper then the Firestone's I priced at same time. |

Central Minnesota | If you can't get the Firestone tires you want, i'd give Michelin tires a chance. I know years ago when you wanted to order a tractor, there wasn't much of a price difference between Goodyear and Firestone. But if you wanted the Michelin option, then it jumped up quite a bit. Not sure if they are that much better or not. But I know I wouldn't settle for goodyears if you can't find the firestones you want. |

central mn | I had combines with rwd that had Firestone field and roads on them. Bias maybe?? |

It isn't at all a 23 degree bar...more like a curved bar that starts out at 23 at the sidewall edge and gets sharper toward the center and ends up nearly parallel at the center of the tread. The bars are spaced fairly close. |

Looks like I'll go with the Firestone FWD tire. FYI the Firestone is $1475 and the Dyna Torque is $1350. |

I'm not a big fan of the Goodyears either although I will say the ones on our 11 year old MacDon windrowers have been stellar so far.
