Without doing any searching, don't be fooled.
Many companies like to copy and like to say they are as good as: "You name It"

Usually just the China clone copy types.

I have a CDI digital 3/8 drive. As stated , CDI is owned by snap on. Another guy in the shop has the snap on version, only differences are the hand grip and the ratchet head.

Pricision industries makes snap on's split beam style torque wrenches.

http://www.cditorque.com/about.html I've got a half inch drive, 250 ft lb model. Seems to work fine. Check them out on Amazon, a lot of good reviews. http://www.amazon.com/CDI-Torque-2503MFRMH-Micrometer-Adjustable/dp...

CDI Is a Snap On "Industrial brand" just like Williams, Bahco, and Sioux.   The torque wrenches are good but don't have the nice guts like the Snap-On if thats what he's after.

Precision instruments makes a very nice split beam and always did make it for Snap On.

Glasford, IL.
I have sold industrial power tools to major manufactures and was a customer of industrial tools for the better part of a decade now. CDI has a huge percent of the torque wrench market in the US assembly market. They make great wrench's and you should have nothing to worry about. If I were in the market I would look at Belknap, CDI, or Sturdevant Richmont dial or digital torque wrench's.

I have a 250 # 1/2" drive Snap-On. Last time I sent it out for calibration in came back with CDI guts in it. Works the same as it always did.
