The baler I recently purchased looks like it is going to need some new belting put on it. It is a New Holland 660 baler with 7" belts for a total of 8 belts. Where is the best place to buy belting from

EX-CeL belting
If you can swing it put a whole set of new belts on, unless you really like splicing belts when you should be baling.

How bad are they? Put a picture up and show us. If it were me I would try to get by the first year and make sure everything else on the baler works before I put that much money into an older baler. Belts aren't cheap and will run a long time even if they aren't pretty. Maybe just back the tension off a little. If the belts are poor be sure to check over the pickup area closely for bad bearings or cracked cams as likely the baler has seen a lot of use. Doesn't take long for a bad bearing in the pickup to really bend and break expensive things...been there done that with an older Vermeer baler. Good luck.

No reason to put new belts on a baler unless they are tearing. Traction on the baler belt was a gimmick, just ask Vermeer. They used smooth belts for years. They maybe still do?

I used to buy all my belts there, they are JD dealer but had/have great prices on all belting.
I could get them shipped to my door 25% cheaper than I could buy them "locally"

There are basically two important things about baler belts.

1. The belts need to have good splices with good lacing/pins in them. The splices are where trouble ALWAYS starts.

2. The belts need to be equal length. If some belts are longer/shorter than others they will try to crawl over each other/twist/etc.

I agree with the post that said to run them, at least for now. But before you use the baler, check to see if the splice is good and replace any questionable lacing/pins in them.

+1

I was gonna put new belts on my baler and new rollers on the net wrap I was so pissed from wrap wrapping the net wrap roller.

Took the baler in and they cut all the belts to length and put new splicers in and it didn't skip a best on the last of the hay.
