Perry, MO | I am on the Rural Fire Board in our area and got quite a shock when I got the quote for some pump parts. Our department has a 94 model fire truck and a valve came apart and went through the pump, it did not hurt the housing but we need a new impeller, nut, seal, and a brass wear ring. The impeller was a little over $3000 but that was no real shock, the shocker was the brass wear ring that is over $7500. I have learned that this is a Hale Godiva pump, Godiva is a European model that is hard to get parts for. Everything but the wear ring is in the U.S. but it will have to come from overseas with a 12 week lead time. I am going to take it to a local machine shop and see what they think about making one but I am afraid it may be tough without having some specs from the company and not knowing how much it is worn down. We are not a tax based district, just operate off of dues that are voluntary and this is going to eat up most of what we spend in a year. Well it is time for a new pump. When some sellers see a public payer like a city, or fire district paying the bill, they go for the gonads. Replace the pump.

Perry, MO | The pump is no longer available, and to make things worse, they say it has a different pattern and we would have to replace the transfer case that bolts directly to it as well.

Put on your farmer hat, and get things done, or have someone else on the dept. help you.

nw MN | I would say that any machine shop could make that, and you may be surprised how well they can estimate wear in recreating parts.

Amherst WI | I know. I have a Hale PTO irrigation pump that had a bearing go out of it. If screwed up the brass ring in it. I ordered everything I needed to fix it right, new rings, new seals, bearings ect. $1300 is what the total came to. They weren't even the right parts. I got busy over summer and I am not sure they will even take them back now.

New York Eastern Finger Lakes | On most centrifugal pumps, the clearance between the ID of the wearing ring and OD of the impeller ring is 15 thousandths. Your ring appears to be what is known as a labyrinth style.
