Wife wants new fryer for upcoming christmas appetizers.  Will only be doing onion rings, mozzerella sticks, etc.

Want one that gets hot and has decent capacity.  Last ones failed miserably at both!

What works for you?

TIA

gopher

ps.  wife says something about "vented"??  how can that be w/o duct and fan?

I'm sure this is overkill but I got a Cajun fryer. The design allows the oil to be used over and over without needing changing. I have the 4 gallon, 2 basket unit. It works great, we just made fried jalapeƱo's in it today.

Since trying the Charbroil infrared fryer, I will never use a deep fryer again. You literally get the same quality and taste as an oil fryer without the mess or hassle dealing with the oil (and its price).

This gadget sounds pretty good, if it really works. Maybe our French friend has an answer. http://gizmodo.com/5446516/t+fal-actifry-review-frying-without-oil
I think the guy on "Simply Ming" uses one on his TV show. http://www.ming.com/simply-ming.htm

Wife just uses a cast iron frying pan for all her deep frying, just had shrimp for supper. Doesn't want a deep fryer.
