Central NE
Anyone have a creative way to store/sort an assortment of nuts/bolts in for your service truck.

TIA

Use the big plastic bins that can be purchased at Northern Tool or Fleet Farm. Sides need to be high or when you hit the brakes they will slide to the front. I just use one for one size diameter.

I've got a bunch of those sitting around with just about anything in them. Organized of course! Needless to say there is a lot of coffee consumed at the shop. LOL!

No Mans Land , Cimarron co. OK.
For bolts, nuts, flats etc I use 12''x6''x4'' plastic bins, My service trucks have 1/4'' up to 1'', lenghts of 1'',2'',and 3'' a few longer big bolts for plows and other large equipment. I have lots of space on the 14' service bodies so for filling a single huge compartment with slide out drawer. Buy by the pound most of the time so I have a wide assortment God bless the ones who clean-up after I am gone ? lol I have neighbors who stop and ask if I have a certain bolt or nut etc.We are along ways from town , To think of it I better start charging them too .I even take a blow gun to all my tool boxes and storage areas to keep them clean as I can , its hard to at times when the pressure is on an your going 9 O, good sealed place helps . Cheap plastic bins can come in any size that you want so you can find what fits ur fancy.

if space is a issue ( can be if you haul a lot of OTHER stuff) i got 3 or 4 plastic boxes with dividers and folding lids about 14" by 10" and 2.5" thick from a farm supply store, but ace hardware may have them too. basicly they were just a bigger version of the kits that roll pins and clotter pins etc come in ,, they hold up to 6" long x 1" bolts fine , and keep things clean and they stack nice , the down side is you have to remember to restock once in a while cant haul a years worth of bolts with you at all times .

Kansas
Heavy duty flat tackle box organizers with dividers. One for nuts, flat and lockwashers from 1/4-3/4 and another for bolts 1/4 to 1/2. They can even be put under the seat. We buy a bunch of the same size for grease zerks, machine washers, electrical supplies, cotter pins, hose clamps, hairpin clips, ect and then stack them neatly in a toolbox.
Not sure if they still make it, but Montezuma used to make a "toolbox" specifically for bolt, nut and washer storage. Everything was organized just like their regular toolboxes. Always thought that would be pretty slick if I could just sqeeze another toolbox on the pickup bed.

I use locking drawers http://www.fastenal.com/web/products/detail.ex?sku=63007 I got from Fastenal, they fit in a cabinet http://www.fastenal.com/web/products/detail.ex?sku=63373 that holds four of them if you have room for it in service truck. I didn't have room I just stack them in a compartment in truck. I keep one for my bolts 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 1/2" I use another drawer for electrical connectors, also one for shins, key stock, set screws, etc.

Look up hardwareoutfitters.com I just got my patent last August 2016 took 7 years. There is nothing out there even close to what this product will do . One 4-tray rack will hold and organize 3 to 6 of every size bolt from 1/4 x 12 all the way up to 3/4 x 6..or metric 6,8,10,12,14,16mm hexhead, socket head, or highhead. Call or text me 801-243-9853 email [email protected] many availible options filled or empty if you have bolt bins and want to save on freight.
