Subject: Brandt 5000 ex?

NW ND
What would cause grain to get sucked up through the sieves and out the exhaust. Doesn't do it alot. Did it once coming out of a full bin, and twice when it was just sucking a little grain thru it. Wheat and Durum. Sieves are in right, and air locks appear to be free. Have throttle locked out so it can move freely. Anyone else have this prob.

Thanks

, pulling too hard . Open the slide gate on the top of machine a little.

Make sure the top sieve is pointing away from the fan opening .

Check the door at the end of the discharge auger. Spring breaks and door stays open. Sucks air down auger until the air chamber is filled with grain.

had a straight 5000 was not to bad took lots of nylon bearing out of auger
traded it for 2010 5000ex with the better bearings

blows all types of grain out old one was better
. told me to
#1 top screen away from fan
#2 throttle on float position
# air slide door open accordingly
#4 disconnect hose or pipe when done each load
#5 if doing bin cleanup place grain head out of grain

tried all this and it still is 1/2 the machine of th 2008 model

in wheat run vac @ 2100rpm =vac speed @900rpm

in conola tractor @1700rpm=vac speed@750rpm

rep. has no more answers and now we have no rep in my area

machine has 51hrs and will be traded soon very disapointed

maybe the discharge spring need adj.
has anyone ever figured this adj. out
thanks in ADV

yeah we have had three of these vacs, 4000, 4500 and now the 5000EX and the 4500 would never spit grain out the discharge. I think that the fan is sucking is faster than the auger can take it away. I too have never adjusted the springs on the discharge, might have to look into that. Where should they be adjusted to?

Air leank in auger or upper and lower doors(cleanout)
Wet grain dust buildup can do it too. So can sucking more in than the auger can deliver will do it.... Light crop coming in too fast...AndI seem to remember if the intake hose is short and doesnt get VENTED air flow it will blow through the fan also...

we always plumb as short as possible 14ft bins are easy 19ft we take the time move it over
Back to discharge springs
shouh they fairly firm or fairly loose
full bin wheat plumbed tight 650bu 8 min.
cleanup on 19ft bin wheat 650bu 25-30 min thats painfull

Had to load a couple of trucks tonight. One was a dry tanker. I could stand on top of it and mess with that spring. Too tight and would send ground wheat through the exhaust. Too light and would slow down the flow of wheat. Finally found a happy medium, and the vac was working about as good as I've seen it. Just over 800 bushels in 19 minutes. Not too bad. Hope the new fan on my shop floor will shave some more off of it.

yep..... I never even thought to try different spring tensions on ours.Ifthe door closes under light spring tension.... isnt that all it would need to do? Wouldnt the vacuum hold it shut once it is up and running?
I do see how too much spring tension could keep the auger from discharging the grain easily and it would overload the flighting and swirl around instead of elevate out the end.
It seems on ourbrandt that if sunflowers are dirty and moist, that si when you have blower discharges and more air in the nozzle helps.(slower flow)?
