King City, Mo | Update on the super early sweet corn.
The earlier corn was planted and then sprayed with gly/atz/dual/collisto iirc.
The later corn was sprsyed the same day but I worked the ground prior to planting it to help dry it out.
Same tank full on the sprayer sprayed our popcorn/field corn ground 1/2 mi down the road. No weeds whatsoever on it when I planted it last Monday/Tuesday.
I’m seeing more weeds where we worked the ground after spraying it. Also that patch is where we had sunflowers late last year double cropped after early sweet corn. I think there’s volunteer sunflowers that came up as well as some other weeds.
It looks as if the early sweet corn took the cold weather and snow harder then the later planted. Our crop insurance date for field corn is April 9th or so and the sweet corn was both in March.
Will be interesting to see what tassels first.
