Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa | As we've done for the last however-many years, I created a temporary mail forward for my mom's mail while we were in AZ. Didn't have any mail come thru the 1st couple of weeks, so called the local PO. They'd held her mail instead, so they bundled up what they had held and sent it to her. Couple weeks later, still no mail. Called again. New carrier. When asked, said she knew nothing about a forward order. Mail was all in Mom's mailbox. They bundled it again and sent it to AZ. The date of the stop forward order was reached, so of course, she got no more mail. No mail in her box when I stopped today, and post office isnt real sure where her 2 wks of mail might be, but it isnt in her mailbox or at the post office. Time will tell eventually. I should add that the local PO staff is as frustrated as I am, and have been very good to deal with. I just think the crazy system has overwhelmed them more than once. |
