Subject: Plunger replacement for AIM Command / Capstan

Iowa
We purchased a new-to-us 2016 CIH 3340 with 1100 hours. It was a co-op owned custom sprayer, but we are not sure how many acres it has sprayed up until this point. How do you all determine when to replace the plunger/poppet in the solenoid valve? Do you wait for irregularities in the spray pattern, do you do it after so many seasons/hours/acres? Do you go by the depth of the groove on the plunger head? I see some indentation there, but don't have a reference for what is considered "acceptable". Does the groove start showing up in year #1 after replacement, or does it take substantial time and use for it to develop?

Also, I see there are different part numbers for a 2 slot plunger and a 4 slot plunger. Ours appears to be the 2 slot. When is the 4 slot plunger appropriate?

TIA
