| Working on a 4430 Quad range.
I got the tractor with a slipping two speed and hydraulic issues. Put in a reman 2 speed, replaced the trans pump, and have been running it for a year now without any issues.
Recently the pump starting making a chattering noise. Only at idle, and only when there is no hydraulic output. If you turn the wheel, use the remotes, lift the 3pt, it quiets right down. Hydraulics are smooth and strong like always.
I checked the bushings on the pump drive, they're in great shape. I also tried destroking the pump a few times, which did nothing, but the pump quiets right down while destroked.
Anyone have any ideas? Seems to me like the pump is not destroking all the way when it's unloaded. Should I remove the stroke control valve and clean it? | |
