Gregory SD | We needed to give the second round of shots and sort the steers from the heifers. It was only -19 when we started! Planned on starting the chores an hour early, but the blue tractor jelled up before we even backed it out of the shed! The Grandpa (me) , filled the alley and kept them pushed up while oldest son ran the chute and shots, his wife(due this Thursday!) wrote the weights down and cut out tags. Second son swung the sorting gate and squirted the pour on on, while his wife kept the chute full and filled guns. Everyone stayed busy and stayed fairly warm. It took about just short of 6 hours to work 450 head. Things really went well! my toes are just starting to warm up! Dave | |
