Subject: Seed Firmers

SW Minnesota
Looking at putting the new low stick seed firmers on our John Deere high speed planter. Was told that in order to do so you have to put a 5 inch extension on you closing wheel to push them back in order to have room for the seed firmers. Has anyone done this and liked it? I worry that by pushing the closing wheels back on curves you will miss the seed trench?
Thanks for any input
