Subject: Deere 1990 planting canola?

Homestead Montana
Anyone out there plant canola with a 1990 Deere air drill? I have looked on JD parts and it looks like you can only get a meter roller for wheat or beans. I would need a much finer roller and I think 15 inch spacing would be fine for canola. I am trying to do a better job of singulating the seed. We have been seeding it with our 1890/1910 drills but cant get the seeding rate under 4 lbs acre (we would like to be 2 1/2 lbs. We are also playing with the idea of canola plates in a corn planter. Any thought or ideas?
