NW MN | This is my plan. Fence off my whole farm. New seeding alfalfa would be hay until the stand is thinned out and grasses take over (5 to 10 years). Then pasture cows on old hay field that has interior wire for rotation. The pasture land the cows came from would then be reseeded into Alfalfa and hayed. I could keep rotating this way and not have to worry about autotoxicity (assuming the alfalfa was completely gone to have the cows mow down brush to increase my field size without the use of a bulldozer.
Pictures of brush on farm that was dozed out on the property line to make way for the fence. I have been haying this farm for the previous 6 years. 30 years ago the farm was almost 100% tillable....
