I usually have my hay ground.  Mix of brome, prairie, and grinding alfalfa.  This year I have some bales of Alfalfa baleage for the first cutting.  Doesn't sound like grinder man thinks it's a good idea to grind. Just put out a bale every so often in a rack and let them have it or what's a better way.  I just feed ground hay in a portable hay wagon.  Cow's have aug-oct calves at their side.
