98 Chevy brake light update

Thanks for all suggestions on what to check.
Ended up taking truck to local independent mechanic. Turned out to be a 30 amp fuse in Fuse block under the hood on drivers fender. I looked at them but none were labeled brakes so I did not check them. Who woulda thunk!
