Just outside downtown Prairie Hill | We are planning to go with a more complex cover crop mix next year. Perhaps 5-10 species?? Now we are planting rye and turnips with a JD 1780 equipped with rye plates. We want to stay with a planter due to seed placement. We also use this planter to plant smaller odd shaped fields to beans in the spring. So my question is...will this 1780 work for a wide variation of seed sizes? Would a kinze brush meter work for this job. JD 1780 is a good planter, but it uses a vacuum system and it is harder to work on. We plan to rebuild the cover crop planter this winter so need to make a change soon or begin the process on the 1780. Thanks for your thoughts. |
