| This was free hay that I cut for the first time and baled. I had no idea the field was terraced until getting a closer look. I’m guessing the problem might be my approach to baling uneven windrows with little hay in the center. It wasn’t like this all the way across the field but none of the Bermuda was very tall. There was inconsistent growth across much of it.
The pressure was on to complete two fields in one day. That last field with the free hay was very bumpy and rough with gopher mounds. The disc mower couldn’t cut all that smooth because of the rough surface.
I’ve had zero issues on all the other fields with thicker and denser windrows. The JD baler is still nearly new. | |
