w/c Illinois | I posted earlier about left over bolts following lengthy repairs to my 9500. As tj_farms commented, I took too much apart at once, but I needed to keep working while waiting on parts. I had triple checked everything with no luck. Several responded with suggestions and I’m extremely grateful and humbled by everyone’s willingness to help. Turns out hf 213 nailed it with the left hand bearing flange on the clean grain bottom auger. It all came back to me when I opened the clean out door again and saw the shiny bolt heads. Originally the mystery bolts came in from the outside with the nuts inside. They were a pain to get off and on so I thought “why not put the nuts on the outside”? I found out why - the long bolts interfere with the shaft speed sensor. I remember now getting shorter bolts from my bolt bin and that’s why I had three unused bolts when I finished. All of the searching to find the answer was not in vain. I discovered I had put too many spacers behind an idler pulley resulting in a serious misalignment that would have destroyed a new belt in short order. I also retrieved a wrench that I left on the very front end of the straw walker when I climbed out following installation of the beater grate. I always believe things happen for a reason and know that blessings often come disguised as something else. Again, thanks to all for your thoughtful suggestions!
