Subject: Tile and Cereal Rye crop

Redwood Falls, MN
I'm planning on planting cereal rye for a grain crop in about 1 week and was thinking about my tiling plan for that field. I will have a few days before planting to put in tile but I have some concerns over the potential for rye roots growing down into my newly installed tile due to the looser soil over the tile. With covercrops including rye we've seen roots down to 3 ft in a short period of time and considering this will have a full growing season, should I be concerned about tiling before my cereal rye crop or should I wait until next August after harvest and plow it all in then? If I tile ahead of it I will get more use from my tile but may run the risk of roots in the tile, if I wait I may not have the root issue but will have some thin spots due to poor drainage. Has anyone had any experience with newly installed tile and roots due to the subsequent crop?
