NC Iowa | Corn roots vary depending on the types of male and female inbreds used. This hot, dry stressed year has demonstrated that those who study root types, narrow penetrating vs modified vs large fibrous and placed accordingly have much better yields so far compared to those who planted whatever "their guy" told them to plant. Generally speaking, it was hard to not have good yields in rain plentiful years in 2014, 2015,2016,2017.2018 and 2019.
