Subject: 2020 corn yield performance was all about soil fertility and genetically determined root size!

NC Iowa
Corn roots vary depending on the types of male and female inbreds used. This hot, dry stressed year has demonstrated that those who study root types, narrow penetrating vs modified vs large fibrous and placed accordingly have much better yields so far compared to those who planted whatever "their guy" told them to plant. Generally speaking, it was hard to not have good yields in rain plentiful years in 2014, 2015,2016,2017.2018 and 2019. What are those who visit this site going to do if we go into a few years of continued hot, dry into 2021, 2022 ...?
