Subject: Japanese Millet

SW Minnesota
Had a good week and got our 300 tons of silage up the last couple days and was able to bale the Japanese Millet that I cut Monday. Got .7 rain last night so hopefully that gets the regrowth going. Learned a lot on this so far. Millet was seeded in July following putting up oatlage.

I’m hoping to get some regrowth for grazing the end of the month. I initially thought I’d have to deal with prussic acid, but after reading some more it sounds like it’s not an issue with Japanese Millet. Is this correct to assume that I can graze through frost events without concern?
