South Central Iowa | Planted pearl millet (first time ever) July 4th into a worn out alfalfa grass hay field that had been disced up and harrowed into a fine firm seedbed. Seed laid in dry dirt for 10 days, then caught a rain. Stand of pearl millet is excellent, stand of green and yellow foxtail, and barnyard grass, is outstanding. Is there any chemical option of control of these grasses, either preemerge or post? Are the offenders too closely related to get any chemical help? Thanks for any insights. | |
